Underwater moonbeams light up
the morning air and send feathers
of 15 distinct colors flying
across the room
and towards your sleeping face.
I inch closer towards the light,
wondering if it's glowing presence
is contagious or perhaps alive
but it simply hovers
and joins with your snores rocking
me to sleep. Light years go by
between dreams and I awake
trapped in your arms as the
shimmering feathers twist and
twirl through my hair, giving me
a glowing mane that blows
through the fake wind. I realize
I must be dreaming and yet I
know the sound of your voice
as it sings to me and rescues
me from shades of colors that
I don't know what to name.
