Emoji's of the Mind

Slipped into a trippy
compartment in the left
quadrant of my upper brain
is a series of characters similar
to the most evil Disney villains
mixed into a mismatch of pastel
colored emojis that smile with
gaps in their teeth.
They speak to me all at once and
usually in peak hours of concentration
when I want nothing more than total
silence when it comes to my thoughts.
These proto-conscience smiles speak
through all the various voices of my
mother, father, grandmother, best friend,
and hated ex. Plus a weird assortment of
strangers that happened to place their
nostalgic or comedic influence on me. Or
maybe their voices were just obnoxious.
One way or the other this choir of
cacaphonous creatures nest within my ear
and sometimes when I finally kill them all with
wine and laughter I find myself quite alone.
