Mazes of Gold

The walls of the Golden Maze are
about 2.7 miles high and one can peek
between the tips of the top to see a royal
bluejay dart past just before nightfall at
any time of the day.
The walls are liquid gold and morph
with the weather so you never really can
find a solid path but you can continue to stare
at the designs and they will shift to fit your
current mood.
Now they're Aztec symbols, tomorrow
they resemble an old family photograph, and
next week they're acrylic paintings of razor cell
phones. If you look too long you will never
see another color again.
At least if you look down though, there is grass
and that is good. Because you know you can
keep going if life is out there somewhere searching
and maybe even in here too.
