Something He Is Sure Of

He is jealous of hummingbirds:

the way they move without sound,

without scrapes of metal and

squeaks of iron that compose

his fingers and jaw.

Being a robotic being

is lonely too and hummingbirds

understand that kind of living.

he is jealous that they lack

emotions in their aqua green

feathers and beaks of gold

though how feelings pulse

through his electric circuits

he's not quite sure.

He is only sure that

he is jealous

of hummingbirds.
