Highlights on a Painting at Dawn

The sheets engulf her

as if Flames but she giggles

beneath the red silk and

pulls me under.

I know just how she will look

in The Morning: sunshine streaming

through dirty blonde hair, regret in

her eyes, a look of unforeseen sadness

or guilt lingers.

But here tonight, she is happy or

pretends to be and dances just for me

beneath my guide and I try to get that

painting out of my head though I know

exactly how her silhouette will fall

against the morning Sun.
