The Realms

Let me take you away
the way is clear, the
path unknown but tidy
and fleeting, today it's a
boat tomorrow a cave
but the realms wait for
no one and often misbehave,
Burrow through, fearless tourist
but bring just yourself with clothes,
for the elements of the trip shall
require just things that you know,
revel in reveals of instinct as you fly
beyond our three dimensions and
reach a place of story-made grace
and beings you knew not existed,
"How many realms?" you ask,
please don't, there are many,
I've traveled by a dozen but
I'd bet a penny there's twenty
or thousands, unsure, you
yourself may open an unknown
door,
to the air realm underwater
where bubbles are key to the
survival of mouth-breathers
like you and me,
where sound can be altered
and may come to you in colors
or ceilings become easy pathways
upside-down to wander,
I wonder if the water realm,
all surrounded by clouds, is
really as flighty as up-jumpers
confound,
but the fairies by far are my
favorite part, with wings and
lute songs that you'll remember
throughout, though second place
goes to food, friends, without ends
and it comes with no calories,
the fun never ends!
Draw nearer and blink to believe
your two eyes, and I'll take you
to wander the sea and the skies.
