There's a place hidden deep in la jungla,
in the jungle of South America's past,
that contains the answer to all of
life's questions:
Where we came from,
Why we are so greed-driven,
Who we are,
and our Creator's true name,
Granted, you may lose your life
to reach these answers,
but the journey is still worth
everything,
through piranha-infested waters,
and walls covered in poison-dart
frogs, through spears and cannibal
camps, beyond jaguars and snakes
and dreadful diseases,
It's just around the river bend,
and ten years down that same path.
Even if you don't decide to take
the trip, for pride or family or
safety, some part of you will
regret its absense
and forever wonder at
undiscovered marvels,
While your closest friends
take you there each night
in your nightmares,
and you awake
each morning in
fresh blood.
